Executive Production Assistant

Rematriation Story & Mission:

Birthed among women of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Rematriation is an Indigenous women-led organization connecting Indigenous women of all generations across Turtle Island through knowledge sharing and uplifting our voices. 

We gather as Indigenous women and raise our voices, stories and collective power by taking rematriated action for the wellbeing of our Indigenous nations and our Mother Earth. 

We hold space for Indigenous women to gather in-person and online, share multi-media stories on our online digital storytelling platforms, and create initiatives to educate the public about building relationships with Mother Earth and our people.

Vision:

We create a powerful rematriating network of knowledge and story sharing among Indigenous women of all generations across Turtle Island that empowers our future leaders of Indigenous women. 

Definition: (verb) returning the sacred to the mother, a movement led by Indigenous women that all peoples of the world can participate in for the wellbeing of our Mother Earth and all future generations.

Job Description:

Work directly with the Founder & Executive Lead of Rematriation on planning, managing and promoting a suite of media based projects and related events.

Skills:

Great communication skills, verbal and written 

Draft emails, letters, social media posts 

Respond to emails and phone calls 

Coordinate and schedule meetings, in person and via Zoom 

Provide research and notes in preparation for interviews and events 

Pays attention to related news media 

Prepare project reports and next steps 

Comfortable speaking in front of small and large groups 

Comfortable attending meetings with and for the Executive Lead 

Can manage recording audio, short video and photos smartphone 

Comfortable with social media  

Can oversee budgets in excel 

Flexible – can easily pivot to changing environment and change of plans 

Open to travel and enjoys travel 

Can manage travel planning

Technical Skills:

Project Management Apps

Length of Contract:

Full time, 1 year contract, renewable based on project needs

Familiarity With:

Media production, interviewing and storytelling 

Media editing 

Brand development 

Event management 

Database management

Requirements:

3 to 5+ years of relevant experience

Compensation:

Based upon experience and hours of availability

Location & Travel:

This position requires the majority of work to be carried out in-person at the Rematriation office in Syracuse, NY. Partially remote work will be available. Regular local travel and occasional long-distance travel will be required. A personal car for local transportation will be needed.
